Police Blotter: Bad Boys, Broken Elevator

The Flathead County Sheriff’s reports for Monday included the following:

9:32 a.m. Someone deliberately broke the main control screen for a red ditch witch plow on Twin Lakes Road in Whitefish. The damage is estimated to be over $1,000.

9:40 a.m. A woman called in worried because she hadn’t heard from her ex-husband in 10 months. However, she called back a few hours later to say that she just spoke to him and he’s fine.

1:36 p.m. A person in Bigfork called when they thought they saw someone poaching on their neighbor’s property. The person was not poaching and had permission to be on the property.

2:32 p.m. Someone threw rocks at a windshield and broke the mirror off one of the county trucks at the Cemetary Road gravel pit in Kalispell.

2:41 p.m. A 54-year-old man was caught stealing items like makeup and hair ties from a grocery store in Kalispell. He told deputies he was just trying to get his Christmas gifts for his family. Deputies were not moved and he was cited.

2:44 p.m. There was a possibly vicious and stray dog spotted strolling down Whalebone Drive in Kalispell.

4:03 p.m. An 87-year-old woman called in from an elevator she had been stuck in for 30 minutes to let the Sheriff’s Department know she was starting to get nervous. The Bigfork Fire Department came to her rescue.

4:10 p.m. Someone vandalized something on Mission Way.

5:21 p.m. A man called the Sheriff’s Department because he is worried his ex-wife has been drugging their baby.

6:26 p.m. A resident on Willow Glen Dr. in Kalispell called about suspicious smells coming from the neighbor’s house.

8:01 p.m. Three boys ran away from the Wilderness Detention Center.

The Sheriff’s Department responded to 120 calls for service.
