WHITEFISH – Whitefish police have arrested a 27-year-old man after his girlfriend’s 5-year-old son was placed in a bath tub of scalding water, causing serious burns.
Police arrested Juan Vasquez Wednesday. He was jailed on $500,000 bail in Flathead County.
He faces charges of felony aggravated assault and felony criminal endangerment for allegedly causing 2nd and 3rd degree burns over 40 percent of the boy’s body in late October.
Police say the boy is being treated at the burn unit at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
