Music School Holds Columbia Falls Recital

By Beacon Staff

The Columbia Falls studio of the North Valley Music School will be presenting an end-of-semester recital on Thursday, Jan. 29 at 7 p.m. at the Discovery Square on Nucleus Avenue in Columbia Falls.

The program, under the direction of teacher, Terry DeGroot, will include piano, voice and string numbers performed by students whose ages range from 6 years to young adult.

It’s one of the first recitals for the branch school, which opened just last fall. From <a href="http://www.flatheadbeacon.com/articles/article/music_school_spreads_across_the_valley/5443/" title="a Beacon piece”>a Beacon piece:

In its 10th year, North Valley Music School in Whitefish is reaching a crescendo.

For years the school’s reputation and enrollment have been building, stressing the confines of its small building – a 1930s house on Spokane Avenue. Now, to accommodate the growth, the school is adding teachers and opening two satellite locations – one in Columbia Falls and another in Kalispell.
