Dead Horse Found and Elk vs. Teepee Pole

7:42 a.m. A dead horse was found dumped beside the road on Cramer Creek. The matter is being investigated.

8:18 a.m. An elk got its antlers tangled up in a teepee pole line on Whitefish Stage. Fish and Game responded and cut the animal loose.

9:29 a.m. A dog attacked a neighboring dog on Lore Lake Road. A vet treated the attacked dog and the owner of the other dog was issued a citation for having a vicious animal.

9:29 a.m. There was a report of 15 to 20 horses on Trumble Creek without food or water. Officials checked in on it and the claims were unfounded – the animals had sufficient food and water.

10:29 a.m. A driver of a county vehicle hit a deer.

10:56 a.m. Someone called in to report a theft of tools behind Ashley Furniture.

11:55 a.m. A driver of a white Ford Explorer was weaving back and forth, driving on the shoulder and brake checking on Reserve. Officers were unable to locate the driver.

12:19 p.m. A natural gas line was on fire near a shed and motor home just off Rose Crossing.

1:14 p.m. A 23-year-old male was arrested for partner assault, assault with a weapon and burglary after breaking into a residence and assaulting a family member. The suspect was carrying a knife.

1:57 p.m. Flower boxes were knocked off a residence on Violet Bay Drive in Marion.

2:55 p.m. An ex-husband violated a protective order by sending a text message to his ex-wife’s 17-year-old daughter.

4:50 p.m. A dead body was found by a couple walking near the railroad tracks on Nicholson Drive. It appears the body had been there for a couple days. The body was sent to the state crime lab in Missoula for examination.

6:11 p.m. A camper was broken into at Hill Brothers Auto Body.

8:59 p.m. A fire broke out on a stove on Michels Slough Drive. Hot oil in a pot caught on fire.
