Happy Earth Day, everyone! Check out these holiday activities at Flathead Valley Community College today:
At 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. there will be a free showing of the documentary film “FUEL” in the college’s Arts and Technology building. The movie won the audience choice for best documentary at the Sundance Film Festival, and offers a portrait of America’s addiction to oil and speaks to the immediacy of new energy solutions. At the evening show, the film’s executive producer will give a special introduction to the movie at 6 p.m. and the show will be followed by a public discussion session.
There’s also an Earth Day Fair, also in the Arts and Technology building, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., which will include booths on green living and green energy solutions and kid’s activities.
Then, on Thursday, there will be a conference titled “Re-Powering the Flathead for a New Energy Economy” at the college from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Panel topics range from green building efforts to green energy opportunities in the Flathead. For a full schedule go here.
