Logan Stephens, a fourth-grade student at Ruder Elementary in Columbia Falls, has been chosen as a state finalist in the “Doodle for Google” competition.
“Doodle for Google” is an annual competition where K-12 students submit designs for Google’s homepage logo. Doodles are judged by a panel on artistic merit and representation of the theme, and then winners are selected at the state, regional and national level. The top prize includes a $15,000 college scholarship and a $25,000 grant toward improvement of a computer lab.
This year’s theme is “What I Wish for the World.” Here’s Logan’s 50-word statement explaining how his doodle expresses the theme: “I drew this doodle because I wish for a world where electronics and cars won’t harm the environment and the animals in it.”
Congratulations, Logan!
