By Beacon Staff

HELENA – Top staffers for U.S. Sen. Max Baucus will be holding health care reform listening sessions across the state next week.

Baucus is chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, which has been holding hearings and discussions on reform ideas and drafting legislation that will be introduced this summer.

Ty Matsdorf, a Baucus spokesman in Washington, D.C., says the sessions will give Montanans a chance to express their thoughts on health care reform. Staffers will forward the comments to Baucus.

Listening sessions are scheduled for Tuesday in Whitefish (9 a.m.); Lewistown, Missoula and Fort Belknap (10 a.m.); Rocky Boy (1 p.m.); Hamilton, Libby and Glendive (2 p.m.) and Glasgow (3 p.m.).

On Wednesday, sessions are scheduled for Havre (9 a.m.), Dillon and Miles City (10 a.m.), Browning (1 p.m.) and Anaconda, Colstrip and Livingston (2 p.m.).

And Thursday’s sessions are at White Sulphur Springs and Pablo (10 a.m.) and Columbus (2 p.m.)

The sessions will be held mostly at hospitals and tribal council offices. Colstrip’s is at the city hall and White Sulphur Springs’ is at the sheriff’s office training center.
