Wandering Cows and a Grizzly Attack

8:13 a.m. Firearms were stolen from a home on Foys Lake Road. The guns have not yet been located.

8:27 a.m. Several cows of an unknown variety were exploring Stillwater Road.

8:54 a.m. Near Marion, 20 head of mischievous cattle blocked the thoroughfare. They were eventually persuaded to stay on the proper side of the fence.

10:36 a.m. Unusual amounts of rainfall created a major road hazard at the bottom of Underpass Hill. Vehicles had to pass through a 12” puddle of water.

10:45 a.m. A tree fell down in Columbia Falls due to extremely high winds.

11:40 a.m. Prescription medications, various tools and a stereo were taken from a vehicle in the Hungry Horse area.

12:06 p.m. Several horses in the West Glacier area appeared thin, apparently displaying their ribs. Authorities responded and found that the horses were actually quite healthy.

12:15 p.m. A Nintendo game was stolen from a home on East Reserve Drive.

12:21 p.m. Someone flattened another individual’s tires on Stoneridge Drive. They did so by inserting screws into the rubber.

12:56 p.m. Juvenile miscreants intentionally broke the water pipes at a local private school.

1:02 p.m. After being threatened by another individual, a Ridgewood Drive resident called the sheriff’s department for advice.

4:27 p.m. Someone reports losing three or four $100 bills “all over Flathead Valley.” The money has not yet been located.

5:16 p.m. A man outside a local motel was attempting to purchase marijuana from passers-by. His efforts proved unsuccessful.

5:37 p.m. Someone in the parking lot of an Evergreen box store felt frustrated when a man asked her for money. Authorities arrived and asked the man to leave her alone.

5:58 p.m. In Essex, someone saw a man and a young girl walking out of the woods and “acting strange.” The two were gone upon authorities’ arrival.

6:51 p.m. A suspicious-looking vehicle on the North Fork Road was merely stuck in the mud.

7:02 p.m. Labrant Road was blocked by a large fallen tree. The issue was quickly resolved by means of a chainsaw.

9:11 p.m. A man and his girlfriend quarreled on Cobbler Village Road. The two were counseled and separated for the night.

10:24 p.m. A grizzly bear attempted to attack a horse on Lake Five Road. The marauding creature fled after being attacked by the reporting party’s dog.

10:31 p.m. A “little foreign car” came into a yard on Pioneer Road and then left.

11:38 p.m. Loud music emanated from a home in Somers for hours on end. The revelry stopped at the request of law enforcement officials.

12:07 a.m. An intoxicated man and woman were calling each other names in Coram.
