On Thursday, a man grabbed a .308 caliber rifle from the gun counter at Kalispell’s Sportsman Ski Haus, told an employee he intended to blow off his foot and then walked into a restricted area of the store, according to the Kalispell Police Department.
Officers responded and arrested the man without incident. The store was temporarily evacuated.
The man, who authorities believe was possibly dealing with mental health issues, at no time threated anyone with the weapon. The incident occurred at about 8 p.m. The case is under investigation.
