Bigfork Wins First Game in Four Years

By Beacon Staff

Congratulations to the Bigfork High School football team, which won its first football game in four years by upsetting District 7B rival Plains over the weekend. Bigfork was the heavy underdog, with Plains coming into the game ranked on the state level. But Bigfork hung in with undefeated Plains for four quarters before pulling the victory out in overtime on a 7-yard touchdown run by Travis Knoll.

Bigfork is competing in Class B in athletics this year after dropping down from Class A. It appears Class B is a good fit for the Vikings and now that they have this monkey off their backs, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few more victories this season.
