Final Whitefish First Thursday Gallery Night

By Beacon Staff

The monthly art walk in downtown Whitefish, First Thursday Gallery Nights, is scheduled to end with one final show on on Oct. 1.

If you haven’t joined in since the series began in May, First Thursday is an art exhibit throughout 13 galleries in Whitefish that takes place on the first Thursday of the month from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

It makes sense for these kind of things to end before the snow flies; walking around Whitefish, viewing art and enjoying a glass of wine can be a little less fun with icicles forming on the old eyelashes.

However, for me, it’s another sign that summer is over. So say goodbye to the summer’s warmth and welcome the crispness of fall with the artistic stylings of Kalispell fiber artist Ruth Lane at the Purple Pomegranate and prints from Glenn Phillips’ show, “Groove,” at The Walking Man Frame Shop.

The Jest Gallery will feature several local artists, including a special selection of work from Donna Gans for breast cancer awareness month, which is always a good cause.

So wander to downtown Whitefish on Thursday, grab a drink, have some snacks and enjoy the last art walk until next May.
