THE WINE SPY: Codorniu Pinot Noir Brut Cava

By Beacon Staff

I had a few friends suggest I try Codoriu Sparkling Pinot as a holiday option. The gorgeous bottle alone makes it a fun hostess gift, so I decided to give it a try.

Codorniu Pinot Noir is Spain’s first rose sparkling wine made entirely from the Pinot Noir grape. Codorniu pioneered the production of “Traditional Method” sparkling wines in Spain in the late 19th Century. Attention to detail and excellence are the key attributes of the Codorniu winemaking team. The result has made them renowned for innovation.

Layman’s Review: Loved the light taste – not to sweet and not to dry. I recently served this as an aperitif at a dinner party and the reviews came in positive. What a fun way to start a night with friends.

Experts Review: This brut cava offers aromas of recently picked summer fruits with an incredibly fresh taste of raspberries and black currents finishing with very subtle citrus flavors. It is the perfect holiday sparkler!
