Telluride MountainFilm on Tour in Whitefish

Telluride MountainFilm On Tour is back in the Flathead, courtesy of the Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation. The film festival, which takes on adventure, mountaineering and other different facets of life, will be show at the O’Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish on April 15.

Some of the films this year include: Samsara – alpine climbing in Nepal; Drift Bahamas – fly fishing in the Caribbean; High Plains Winter- skijoring in Montana; Look to the Ground – profile of a blind mountain biker; and many more. The festival seeks to educate and inspire audiences about pertinent issues, different cultures and various environmental settings. The doors open at 6 p.m. and the first film begins at 7 p.m. Buy tickets in advance at the White Room Mountain Shop in Whitefish (863-7666) or Rocky Mountain Outfitter in Kalispell (752-2446) for $12. Tickets are available at the door for $15, but the show’s promoters say they could sell out so get your tickets early.

There will also be drinks and a light dinner available for purchase, courtesy of Big Sky Brewing, Great Northern Brewery, Rocky Mountain Wine and A Simple Chef Catering.

Proceeds will help fund trail maintenance and wilderness stewardship projects throughout the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex.

Door prizes will be peppered in throughout the evening and raffle tickets will be up for sale and drawn during intermission. Raffle prizes include lodging at the Izaak Walton Inn, a day ride with Snowy Springs Outfitters, a raft trip from Montana Raft and Patagonia gear, among others.
