Officials Capture Three More Bears in Flathead Valley

By Beacon Staff

State wildlife officials say they have relocated two bears and euthanized a third in the Flathead valley.

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks officials say on Thursday they captured one black bear that had been seen near the Buffalo Hills Golf Course area, and another black bear near Hodgson Road.

Both were released in remote locations on Friday.

Officials say they also recaptured a grizzly bear that in June killed pigs, goats and llamas northwest of Whitefish. The bear was then radio-collared and relocated.

Wildlife officials say the same bear killed a llama in the Foothills Road area on Wednesday. USDA Wildlife Services and FWP decided to euthanize the bear in the interest of public safety.
