FVCC Students Receive Home Depot Scholarship

By Beacon Staff

Here’s some good news for six students at Flathead Valley Community College – they’ve received $12,000 in scholarships from the Home Depot.

The Home Depot recognized 500 students nationwide as part of the home improvement store’s 2010 Trade Scholarship Program. Each student received $1,000 scholarships to help offset the cost of tuition, books and tools for their chosen trade, which sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

Additionally, the store’s outreach folks tell me that qualifying nonprofit public schools received matching gifts for each winning student enrolled in their programs. Way to go, FVCC!

Here are the students:

Paul Beaver, Kalispell MT
Dale Johnson, Whitefish MT
Keith Liehr, Kalispell MT
Levi Walker, Whitefish MT
Nathan Kopman, Kalispell MT
Travis Benner, Kalispell MT

Congratulations to you six; best of luck with your studies.
