Wild and Scenic Film Festival on Friday and Sunday

By Beacon Staff

Hey there, Flathead Valley. Looking for something to do on Friday or Sunday? Something that incorporates film and the wild outdoors?

Then you might like this offering from the Montana Wilderness Association:

Come see the 2nd Annual Wild and Scenic Film Festival, sponsored by Montana Wilderness Association. Friday Nov. 12 at the O’Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish; doors open at 6pm, show at 7pm. Prizes, snacks and drinks. $10. Also, Sunday Nov. 14 at Discovery Square in Columbia Falls; doors open at 1pm, show at 1:30pm. $5. Tickets available at Coffee Traders, Rocky Mountain Outfitters, and the White Room.

They had me at “prizes, snacks and drinks.”

We’re getting to that chilly, dark time of year when being inside on a weekend night doesn’t sound like a bad idea; so why not check out some outdoorsy films to dull the harsh reality of cold, cold winter? If it sounds like I’m not excited for this upcoming season, I’m not, but this valley does a pretty nice job of having lots of fun activities for people like me who prefer to stay inside when the snow flies.

Plus, the Montana Wilderness Association is a cool group; check out their website here.

Either way, Flathead, enjoy your weekend!
