Hunter Education Classes Scheduled

Hunter Education classes have been scheduled for Kalispell, Columbia Falls, Eureka, and Trego. All hunter education classes are free of charge and open to hunters and non-hunters alike. By state law, anyone born after January 1, 1985, must have completed the Hunter Education Course to buy a hunting license in Montana. The minimum age for hunting in Montana is 12. At registration, a parent or guardian must accompany students under 18 to sign the registration form.

Kalispell: Registration for the Hunter Education Course in Kalispell is scheduled for Saturday, September 17, beginning at 9 a.m. and running until 3 p.m. at the Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks headquarters on North Meridian Road. Classes will be held 6-9 p.m. at Flathead High School on September 26, 27, 28, and 29. The field course is scheduled for Saturday, October 1, and the test night is Monday, October 3. Columbia Falls:
Registration for the Columbia Falls Hunter Education Course is scheduled for Wednesday, August 31 from 6-8 p.m., and Wednesday, September 7, 6-8 p.m. at the Columbia Falls City Hall Council Chambers. Students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at registration and must attend all classes to be certified. Classes will be held at Columbia Falls High School (east entrance) on September 13, 15, 19, 20, 22, 27, 29, and Monday October 3. The field course is held on Saturday, October 1. Eureka and Trego— The Eureka session will begin on Tuesday, September 6th at 7:00 pm at the Eureka Middle School Library. Remaining classes will take place from 7-9 p.m. on September 12, 13, 15, 19, 20 and 22. A field day will take place on Saturday September 17th.
