Evergreen Residents Temporarily Lose Power

By Beacon Staff

A driver toppled a power line and caused 1,100 Flathead Electric Company customers to lose electricity Wednesday morning in the Evergreen area.

According to FEC spokesperson Wendy Ostrom-Price, a vehicle slid off the road on the intersection of U.S. Highway 2 East and East Evergreen Drive and knocked over a power pole. The downed line affected 1,176 customers shortly before 8 a.m. Two hours later, electric cooperative crews were still working on restoring power and Ostrom-Price said it was hard to tell when it would be fully restored.

Slick roadways also caused a handful of accidents along U.S. Highway 93 Monday morning.
