By Beacon Staff

The public is invited to attend two upcoming meetings regarding conservation easements in Northwest Montana:

Swan Liaison Team meeting: Oct. 1, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Swan Lake Ranger Station, 200 Ranger Station Road in Bigfork.

This meeting is between Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks, Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation and the Nature Conservancy related to Swan Valley conservation easements that FWP holds on approximately 16,553 acres of TNC and DNRC lands in the vicinity of the Swan River State Forest.

Thompson-Fisher Liaison Team meeting: Oct. 2, 10 a.m. to Noon at FWP Headquarters on 490 North Meridian Road in Kalispell.

This meeting is between FWP and Plum Creek Timber Company related to the Thompson and Fisher River conservation easement that FWP holds on approximately 142,000 acres of PCTC lands in the areas of the Thompson and Fisher river valleys.

These meetings are required annually by the conservation easements and provide a forum for discussion of any issues that may arise with respect to public use, land use, access issues, conditions or other unanticipated issues related to the conservation easement lands.
