Swan Lake Ranger District Planning for New Trails

On April 4, from 4 to 6 p.m. the Swan Lake Ranger District will hold a meeting to discuss development of the motorized trails in the Island Unit Trails decision on Blacktail Mountain. The meeting will be held at the Flathead National Forest Supervisor’s Office located at 650 Wolfpack Way in Kalispell.

Before developing the motorized trail system, Forest Service officials said their felt it was important to discuss and develop the project with trail users and partners as well as a develop a timeline.

The discussion will be limited to the motorized routes and connector sections on the Island Unit, according to USFS. The interest of forming a collaborative group to guide the implementation, monitoring and management of the motorized trail system will be discussed.
