Montana Exports Set Record in 2012

HELENA — Montana commerce officials say the state exported a record $2.48 billion in goods and services last year.

A Montana Department of Commerce statement Thursday says wheat remained Montana’s leading export commodity export at $915 million.

The previous export record was $2.46 billion in 2011.

Gov. Steve Bullock on Tuesday also named MRL Equipment Co. as the state’s exporter of the year.

The Billings company exports road marking and road striping equipment and components.
