Victim of St. Ignatius Fatal Identified

POLSON – Lake County officials have released the name of a 22-year-old Arlee woman who died in a two-vehicle crash near St. Ignatius.

Undersheriff Dan Yonkin tells KERR-AM that Shaylene Dion Haynes died in the crash at about 8 p.m. on Aug. 1.

The Montana Highway Patrol says Haynes’ car went off a county road. She overcorrected and lost control of the car and slid sideways in to the path of a pickup truck.

The 66-year-old man driving the pickup truck was injured, but Yonkin did not know the extent of his injuries.
