HELENA — Secretary of State Linda McCulloch has certified the results of Montana’s 2014 primary election after a postelection audit of vote-counting machines verified the tabulations in each county.

The state Board of Canvassers met on June 10 to select random precincts and races for the postelection audit. Every county subject to the audit had to hand-count both the federal U.S. House race and state Supreme Court Justice Seat No. 1 for the precincts that were selected. Some counties also hand-counted a local legislative race.

The state canvass was completed Wednesday afternoon, making the results of the June 3 primary official.

The general election will be held on Nov. 4.
