Raptor Day at Lone Pine State Park

The family friendly event is free

 Explore the world of raptors at Lone Pine State Park this weekend.

Montana State Parks is partnering with the Flathead Audubon Society for the eighth annual Raptor Day on Saturday, Sept. 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The popular event features a community bird walk in the morning, followed by presentations on birds of the wild, including a dynamic feature with live birds. Researchers from Denver Holt’s Owl Institute of Montana will also talk about the latest research on Montana’s owls at 1:30 p.m. Throughout the day, Lone Pine will provide activities for kids during breaks. There will also be several interactive booths from local conservation agencies and organizations.

The family friendly event is free and participants are encouraged to bring a sack lunch.

Lone Pine State Park is 5 miles southwest of Kalispell and offers panoramic views of the valley. It features 7.5 miles of trails. There is also a picnic shelter and community room.
