MISSOULA – The body of a Missoula man who was reported missing after failing to return from a camping trip west of Hamilton was found at the bottom of a popular climbing feature.
Ravalli County Sheriff Chris Hoffman says the body of 25-year-old Ryan Silsby was recovered Sunday evening.
Silsby’s family posted a message on a Facebook page set up to coordinate search efforts that his body was located at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday. The family says climbers spotted his pack, giving authorities a possible search area.
Silsby hadn’t been seen since Aug. 17 when he set out for a two-day camping trip in Blodgett Canyon. His vehicle was found in the day use parking area at the Blodgett Trailhead on Sept. 2.
