BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — Charles Foster and his wife Sally have been sentenced for their role in one of the biggest fish and wildlife cases in southwest Montana in years.

Charles Foster of Dillon, Mont., was sentenced to six months of house arrest and lost all hunting, fishing and trapping privileges for life.

Sally Foster was given a five-year suspended sentence and lost her hunting, fishing and trapping privileges for 10 years.

The prosecution of the cases was based on a three-year investigation that yielded more than 30 illegally taken deer and elk and 65 fish over the legal possession limit.

The Billings Gazette reports the Fosters were among the 17 co-defendants to be sentenced in the case that has brought more than $30,000 in fines and restitution.
