Firefighters in the Flathead Valley responded to two grassfires on Monday, March 9.
One of the fires near Creston destroyed a small outbuilding. The other one near Somers was reportedly started by a bonfire that was not completely doused, according to South Kalispell Fire Chief Chris Yerkes. Flathead County Fire Service Area Manager Lincoln Chute said with open burning season in full swing, residents should be careful to keep their fires under control.
