The Wall of Fame at Legends Stadium is gaining two new faces.

Former Flathead standouts Frank Cabbage and Jeff Epperly are joining 26 other inductees. The induction ceremony is Feb. 26 at the Glacier High Gymnasium during the crosstown basketball game between Glacier and Flathead.

The Legends Stadium Selection Committee reviewed and discussed six nominations for the Class of 2016. Inductees were chosen based upon community service; excellence in leadership, academics and teaching in Kalispell Public Schools; outstanding athletic accomplishments in the Kalispell community; and accomplishments at Legends Stadium and the playing fields and gymnasiums of School District Five and the state of Montana.

Cabbage graduated from Flathead County High School in 1958. His exploits garnered a combined eight letters in the sports of football, basketball, track and field; athletes at that time were not allowed to letter more than three years in one sport.

In football, Cabbage was team captain and quarterbacked the Braves his junior and senior years. His senior year he led the team against the Billings West Broncs, running for four touchdowns and passing for two touchdowns.  As well as quarterback, he also played linebacker, defensive back, safety, punter and punt returner. He was selected to the All State team as a senior.

Cabbage played guard on the Braves basketball team for three years and was selected to the All State first team as a senior, being selected honorable mention All State as a junior.

In track and field he threw the javelin and placed second at the Montana State Class AA Track and Field Championship as a sophomore and captured state championships in the javelin as a junior and senior.  His senior year he won the Class AA state javelin event with a throw of 191-5.75.

Epperly graduated from Flathead High School in 1981. He was a three-sport star at FHS. He led the Braves football team to the 1980 Class AA State Championship game as quarterback. Having been selected All State quarterback, he was also selected to play in the 1981 East-West Shrine Football Classic but declined to play at the request of the Montana State basketball coach, having signed to play basketball at MSU for the next fall.

Considered one of best all-around basketball players ever at Flathead, Epperly scored over 1,100 points in two seasons for a 24 points per game average, as well as leading the team in rebounding and assists. He was a member of the 1981 Co-Western AA Conference basketball champs and a member of the fourth place team in the 1981 Class AA State Basketball Tournament. He was selected all state in basketball for the 1979-80 and 1980-81 seasons and was designated as one of the top 10 basketball players statewide, all classifications, by the Great Falls Tribune in 1981. He was selected by the National High School Athletic Coaches Association as an All-American in basketball, 1981, academics designee.

In track and field, Epperly broke the school’s 20-year high jump record, leaping 6-7. He placed all four years in the high jump at the Class AA state track meet, competing for and attending Butte High School his first two years.
