A 22-year-old woman was killed Thursday in a weather-related crash near Columbia Falls.

According to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office, Stevie Anne Sorensen of Columbia Falls was killed in the crash.

Montana Highway Patrol reported that Sorensen was northbound on Secondary Highway 206 at about 7:30 a.m. Thursday when her car went off the right side of the road. The patrol says she overcorrected back onto the road and into the path of oncoming traffic.

A pickup truck struck the passenger side of the Sorensen’s car. The victim was extricated from her car and was pronounced dead on arrival at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Stefani says the two people in the pickup truck suffered minor injuries.

Sorensen was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash, the sheriff’s office reported, and neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be a factor. However, speed and road conditions likely contributed.
