The 2015 movie “Suffragette,” starring Carey Mulligan and costarring Meryl Streep, will be shown on Friday, April 1, at the Museum at Central School. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the movie begins at 6:30 p.m. Admission is by donation with a minimum suggested donation of $5. The movie depicts the suffragette movement in the United Kingdom in the early 20th century. Some women died and many were imprisoned in their effort to gain the right to vote. At the same time, women in the United States were having their own suffragette movement. The United Kingdom gained the right for women to vote in 1928. The United States passed the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution for women to vote on August 18, 1920. Montana, however, gave women the right to vote in 1914.

Refreshments will be available at the showing. Come enjoy the movie and support the Scholarship Fund that helps Flathead Valley students.
