Runaway Ponies

By

10:17 a.m. A Whitefish man reported that his neighbor was told by another neighbor that two of his chickens were taken by stray dogs.

12:02 p.m. Two wayward horses were seen hanging around the Dam Town Tavern.

12:13 p.m. Someone called from Lion Lake to report that a man who had earlier berated him from his canoe had fallen into the water and, at the time of the call, all he could see was an upside down canoe surrounded by beer cans. Apparently, he had made it safely to shore.

1:18 p.m. A Columbia Falls woman found a dead cat.

1:41 p.m. A Lakeside woman is concerned about the emotional health of a neighborhood goat that “cries” all day. She went on to say that she wasn’t sure if the goat cried because it wanted to be free or because it was lonely.

1:44 p.m. A Columbia Falls resident reported that his hen had gone missing. She suspects the hen has fallen victim to the murderous activities of the neighborhood’s free-range dogs.
