Jerry Rice, Ronnie Lott and a lineup of other famous former NFL players are coming to Kalispell this weekend for the free Play 60 Challenge.
The stars will be at Glacier High School on Saturday, June 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. For The Children, Inc., a local nonprofit charitable organization that provides financial assistance to Montana families with children in need of medical treatment outside their community, is hosting the event with Candy Bar Ranch.
The Play 60 Challenge is free and open to kids up to 18 years old and their families. Former and current NFL players will participate in games and activities, including football activities, dodge ball and more. The day will also feature other giveaways, raffle prizes, food and family fun.
Due to time constraints, organizers say there will not be any autographs allowed.
Among the stars to participate will be Rice, a former 49er who is widely considered the greatest wide receiver ever and one of the all-time greatest players. Also in attendance will be Dwight Clark, another former 49er wide receiver whose famous catch propelled San Francisco to its first Super Bowl championship in 1982, and Roger Craig, a former running back who played for three 49er championship teams. Rounding out the group of NFL celebrities will be Lex Hilliard, a Kalispell native who played professionally for six years, Chase Reynolds, a former standout running back at the University of Montana who plays for the Los Angeles Rams, and Dane Fletcher, a former standout linebacker from Montana State University who played for the New England Patriots.
Also Kalispell native and former Griz quarterback Shay Smithwick-Hann will be in attendance.
