GREAT FALLS — More than 500 Montana National Guard soldiers will deploy to Romania next week to participate in an international training exercise.
The Great Falls Tribune reports that the soldiers are members of the guard’s 1-163rd Combined Arms Battalion.
Nearly 70 soldiers are already in Romania to receive the M1A2 Abrams tanks and the Bradley Fighting Vehicles that were sent by rail and ship in May.
They will be participating in an exercise that will involve about 2,800 military personnel from 10 countries, including Armenia, Bulgaria, Canada, Georgia, Moldova, Poland and Romania.
