MISSOULA — Police in Missoula are investigating after a restaurant worker found a man’s body on the banks of the Clark Fork River.

Police spokesman Travis Welsh says the man’s body was spotted just before 2 p.m. Saturday half in and half out of the water by a fast-food restaurant employee who stepped outside for a break.

Welsh says the deceased was a white man who appeared to be in his 50s. He says the man was fully clothed and there were no initial signs of physical trauma. He said it did not appear the man’s body had been in the water long.

An autopsy was planned at the state crime lab.
