BILLINGS – The FBI is investigating two weekend deaths in Big Horn County.

The sheriff’s office identified the victims as 38-year-old Freman Bends, a Crow tribal member from Benteen and Julia Stump, a Northern Cheyenne tribal member from Lame Deer. Coroner Terry Bullis says Stump is believed to be in her early 40s.

Bends’ body was found Saturday afternoon by a painting crew along the side of U.S. Highway 451 about four miles south of his home. Stump’s body was found Saturday west of Lame Deer.

The coroner’s office did not release the cause of death in either case.
