Evergreen School District to Hold Open House, Job Fair

Aug. 10 event to showcase district’s three facilities, employment opportunities

By Beacon Staff

Evergreen School District is holding an open house and job fair on Aug. 10, giving the public an opportunity to learn more about the district, tour the facilities and inquire about employment opportunities.

The event, held from 9 to 11 a.m. at 18 W. Evergreen Dr., will showcase the district’s three schools: the kindergarten through fourth grade elementary, the fifth through eighth grade junior high and Crossroads, a tuition-based alternative school serving kids from across the valley.

Among the job openings are paraprofessional positions, substitute teachers and bus drivers. Applications will be on-hand, as will food and prizes. The schools’ three principals, as well as the junior high’s assistant principal, will also be there.

Kim Anderson, the junior high principal, said the district was internationally accredited last year, one accomplishment among many that she wants to share with the community.

“We’re just proud what we’re doing here,” she said. “Sometimes schools don’t get to share those brags and boasts. Part of (the event) is getting the word out about how amazing it is work at Evergreen and getting to know us.”
