HELENA — Police in Helena say a man shot and killed his estranged wife before killing himself at a residence on the city’s west side during a birthday party.
Dispatchers received reports of shots fired at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Responding officers found the man and the woman, both 37 years old, dead in the front yard. Their names haven’t been released.
Police said the man arrived during the party, whose guests included children, ordered people out of the house and pulled a gun. The man then followed the woman into the front yard where he shot her. He then shot himself.
Autopsies were scheduled for Wednesday morning.
