The annual Flathead Beacon Pro-Scratch golf tournament has been canceled due to concerns related to the coronavirus, pushing the 13th edition of the event to the summer of 2021.

The two-day event, with rounds at both Eagle Bend Golf Club in Bigfork and Northern Pines Golf Club in Kalispell, was scheduled to begin Monday, July 20.

“This was a hard decision but we wanted to err on the side of caution and felt it would be better for all of us if we canceled this year and brought it back next year better than ever,” Flathead Beacon owner Maury Povich said.

The tournament draws some of the top golfers in Montana and several others from out-of-state, which also pushed organizers to postpone the event.

Jess Roper and Logan Lindholm won the 2019 event.
