Kalispell Man Admits Role in Covering Up Beating Death

By Beacon Staff

A 28-year-old Kalispell man charged with helping hide the body of a murder victim has reached a plea agreement.

Cody Naldrett entered an Alford plea Tuesday to tampering with evidence in the April 2010 death of 49-year-old Wesley Collins. Under the plea, Naldrett does not admit guilt, but acknowledges Flathead County prosecutors have enough evidence to convict him. Sentencing is set for April 28.

Naldrett testified that he was asked to help hide Collins’ body after he was beaten to death. Robert Lake has pleaded guilty to killing Collins as part of an effort to steal his medical marijuana. Jeffrey Nixon awaits trial.

Prosecutors agreed to recommend a nine-year prison term with all but six months suspended. Naldrett would not get credit for the year he’s spent in jail.
