The basketball season is over for Kalispell. The city’s two teams – Flathead and Glacier – lost out of the double-elimination Class AA boys state basketball tournament Friday morning in Butte. The girls teams failed to make the postseason.
For Glacier, it was a disappointing end to a magical run through the second half of the regular season. The Wolfpack entered the tournament riding an 11-game winning streak. They finish the season 14-8 after losing to Missoula Sentinel 46-44 in overtime on Friday. Glacier fell to C.M. Russell 51-46 in the first round.
Flathead finishes the season 10-12. The Braves lost their state games by a combined 53 points – 87-53 in the first round to Bozeman and 60-41 to Missoula Hellgate Friday morning.
Bigfork plays tonight in the Class B semifinals at 8 p.m. against Wolf Point. I will continue to update their progress.
