More Than 19,000 Season Tickets Sold for Griz

MISSOULA – More than 19,000 season tickets have been sold for the 2008 University of Montana football season.

Athletics department officials say a record 19,364 season tickets had been sold by Friday. Celine Fisher, Adams Center Box Office manager, says the number increases daily.

The former record for football season ticket sales at Washington Grizzly Stadium was 16,833, set last season.

The east side stadium expansion added 2,000 seats, bringing the total capacity to 25,198.

Of the 5,800 tickets remaining, 4,000 have been set aside for UM students while 1,050 are reserved for single-game seating. Another 600 are used to fulfill single-game contractual obligations.

Season tickets will be mailed the week of Aug. 18.
