MSU Nearing Fundraising Goal for Stadium Upgrade

By Beacon Staff

BOZEMAN – Montana State University is nearing its fundraising goal for the expansion and upgrade of Bobcat Stadium.

School officials said Montana State had raised $3.685 million through Tuesday. The school is matching private fundraising up to $4 million, so the total stood at $7.37 million of the $8 million needed. The deadline is next Saturday’s Cat-Griz game.

MSU vice president for communications Cathy Conover says the university plans to as the state Board of Regents for approval of the project when they meet next week in Missoula.

Montana State plans to repay its $4 million share by moving the student section to the new end zone seating, raising the average price of sideline season tickets and single-game tickets and increasing the numbers of both tickets available. The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports the university will have to come up with about $317,000 a year to pay off the debt over 15 years.
