The Montana Arts Council has awarded Columbia Falls Writer, Blogger, and Educator, Kathie N. Lapcevic, a Strategic Investment Grant for the Arts. The grant has been given as a professional development tool for Lapcevic to attend the Food Blog Forum in Asheville, North Carolina, Aug. 18-20.
Lapcevic is a nationally published freelance writer and recipe creator for magazines such as Mother Earth News, The Costco Connection, and other national and regional publications. She is also the creator of the homespunseasonalliving.com blog where she shares recipes, gardening tips, and many articles on living a creative life at home.
Lapcevic teaches classes as Two Frog Home on the topics of cooking, food preservation, gardening and more at various locations throughout northwest Montana including Flathead Valley Community College’s continuing education department.
The Food Blog Forum is a three day event focused on helping food writers improve technical skills as well as network with others in the industry. The grant from the Montana Arts Council will help pay for Lapcevic’s expenses to help develop her personal skills as well as give her a wealth of information to share with other Flathead Valley writers upon her return.
