Authorities have identified the 23-year-old woman who was killed Wednesday in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 93 north of Whitefish.

Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry said Casey Faye Wood of Eureka died in a head-on collision at mile marker 138.1 near Whitefish. Wood was the driver of one of the vehicles and was pronounced dead on the scene, Curry said.

Two Canadian residents from Calgary were injured in the second vehicle and were transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center. Their condition remains unknown.

The Montana Highway Patrol says the car with Canadian license plates was southbound at about noon Wednesday when it drove off the highway. The driver swerved back onto the road and the car crossed into the northbound lane, colliding with Wood’s car. The victim’s car rolled and landed upside-down in the ditch.
