FVCC to Showcase Health Care Career Options

The event will begin with short one-act vignettes showcasing health care careers in action

By Beacon Staff

Flathead Valley Community College invites the community to explore careers in health care at the college’s first Night at The Broussard Center on Oct. 16. Hosted by the FVCC nursing and health science programs, the Night at the Broussard Center is free and open to anyone interested in learning more about health care careers.

The event will begin with short one-act vignettes showcasing health care careers in action. Students will perform live demonstrations beginning with emergency medical services responding at the scene of an accident and continuing with the progression of patient care through the emergency room, surgery, intensive care and rehabilitation.

Following the demonstrations, guests will be invited to visit booths containing information about many of FVCC’s available programs of study, including health information technology, medical assistant, nursing, paramedicine, pharmacy technology, physical therapist assistant, radiologic technology and surgical technology, among others.

The event will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Rebecca Chaney Broussard Center for Nursing and Health Science on the FVCC Kalispell campus. The Broussard Center is the first privately-funded building on the FVCC campus, thanks to a generous legacy gift from the Broussard Family and contributions from members of the community.
