Micheal Ray Richardson, a former Montana Grizzly basketball great and NBA standout, is coming to Pablo for a two-day sports clinic.

Richardson will hold a boys basketball clinic on Aug. 21 from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Joe McDonald gym on the Salish Kootenai College campus. On Aug. 23, a girls clinic will be held. Cost is $65 and includes a T-shirt. The clinics are for players in fourth through 12th grades.

Richardson played for the Griz from 1974-78 and was the No. 4 pick in the 1978 NBA draft. He became only the third player in league history to lead the NBA in both assists and steals. He played eight seasons.

Richardson is coming back to Montana for the Big 3 Sports Clinic, which will also feature Mike Haynes, a former NFL cornerback who played in the late 70s and 80s, and Otis Birdsong, a former NBA player.

On Aug. 21, a meet and greet dinner will be held at KwaTaqNuk Resort in Polson from 6-8 p.m. with all three former professional athletes. Dinner costs $45. Color photographs and basketballs will be available to buy and have autographed.
