Bigfork’s ‘Totally Awesome’ Christmas Carol

By Molly Priddy

The snow has fallen, the trees are lit, and it’s once again time to revisit the holiday favorite, Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.”

But this isn’t your run-of-the-mill Christmas play. On Dec. 18 and 19, the Bigfork Children’s Playhouse takes the classic tale of Ebenezer Scrooge and gives it a neon makeover, setting the storyline in the 1980s for “A Totally Awesome Christmas Carol.”

Scrooge will face the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future, all while learning the lesson of softening his heart and letting a little love and light in for the holidays.

The performance will be highlighted with 80s flair, a visit to the 1950s, and a few iconic 1980s personalities, so it’s going to be, like, totally rad.

Showtime is at 7:30 p.m. at the Bigfork Performing Arts Center. Tickets are available online at www.bigforksummerplayhouse.com.
