BILLINGS — A state prison inmate serving time for child sex abuse has died.
The Billings Gazette reports (http://goo.gl/93lG26 ) 51-year-old Michael McAlpine died Sunday in the Montana State Prison Lewistown infirmary following an extended illness. He was the sixth state inmate to die from an ongoing illness since Nov. 10.
McAlpine was sentenced Jan. 28, 2013, on three counts of sexual abuse of children. He was serving a 20-year prison sentence with 10 years suspended and was set to be released Oct. 23, 2021.
