GREAT FALLS — A Great Falls man charged with killing a woman during a drunken argument is being held on $1 million bail.
The Great Falls Tribune reports that 41-year-old Roy Edward Scott was arrested on a warrant for the death of 32-year-old Stephanie Wells at their home.
Charging documents say there was medical evidence of strangulation and injuries to both sides of Wells’ head. The Montana State Crime Lab determined that the cause of death was homicide.
According to court documents, Wells denied choking or strangling Wells during an interview with detectives. He said he used a “bear hugging” technique to restrain her during the fight.
District Judge Greg Pinski did not hear bail arguments at Wednesday’s hearing.
