Helena High School Facing Possible Loss of Accreditation

School is being placed under increased supervision until the problem of oversize classes is resolved

HELENA — Helena High School is facing the possible loss of accreditation because of oversize classes.

Interim superintendent Jack Copps says the school is being placed under increased supervision until the problem is resolved.

The Helena Independent Record reports there were at least 18 overloaded classes at the school for the past school year.

Copps and Helena School Board chairman Aidan Myhre are scheduled to appear before the Montana Board of Public Education next month to offer a plan to address the problem.
